A Chatham man faces drug and theft charges after someone tried to do a little five-finger-discount shopping in Wal-Mart last night.

Police say shortly before 9 p.m., an employee say a man take a shirt off a rack and put it on over his clothing, before leaving the story with a cart full of items that he made no attempt to pay for.

Police arrested the man outside. As they searched him, police say they found a quantity of methamphetamine.

A 49-year-old Chatham man faces charges of theft and drug possession in connection with the incident.
