Strike

More than 250 Community Care Access Centre personnel in southwestern Ontario, including here in Chatham-Kent, walked off the job Friday morning.

The staff, members of the Ontario Nurses Association Local 35, are under the Erie St. Clair CCAC umbrella.

It’s not an isolated dispute, as about 2,700 nurses at nine of 14 CCACs across the province are on strike, according to the province.

At issue are wages and benefits.
