A Chatham man faces charges after an argument outside a Chatham sports bar turned ugly early this morning.

Police say a man approached his ex-girlfriend in the bar and the woman asked him to leave her alone.

But when she and her current boyfriend left the bar, the man met them in the parking lot, and an argument ensued, police say.

As the couple tried to drive away, the man smashed a car window, which caused the woman to suffer minor cuts, and then punched the boyfriend, according to police.

About 3:30 a.m., officers found the suspect and made an arrest.

A 33-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of assault and one of mischief.
