police tape

Just as Chatham-Kent police lay charges in one break-in, they look to the public to help solve another.

Police charged a 45-year-old Chatham man Thursday with mischief and theft in connection with an Oct. 12 incident.

According to police, about 4 a.m. that day, someone damaged two doors at McDonald’s on Richmond Street and stole two donation boxes that contained about $40 each.

Sometime yesterday between 1:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., someone entered a Warwick Drive residence, stealing about $1,500 in electronics, as well as the woman’s purse.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Const. Dave Miller at davidm@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600, ext. 87231, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
